How to Configure Email Account for MAC OS X El Capitan (POP/IMAP)

Quick Manual Settings

Manually configure your mail client using the settings below:

RockN.host2- US - Houston (TX)
Secure SSL/TLS Settings
(Recommended)
Username: Full Email Address (email@yourname.com)
Password: Use the email account’s password.
Incoming Server: veracruz.websitewelcome.com
  • IMAP Port: 993
  • POP3 Port: 995
Outgoing Server: veracruz.websitewelcome.com
  • SMTP Port: 465
**Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.
 
RockN.host2- US - Houston (TX)
Non-SSL Settings
Username: Full Email Address (email@yourname.com)
Password: Use the email account’s password.
Incoming Server: mail.yourname.com
  • IMAP Port: 143
  • POP3 Port: 110
Outgoing Server: mail.yourname.com
  • SMTP Port: 587
**Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.

Note:The above SSL settings are for our RockN.Host1 (Special & most Starter Plans) servers. If you do not know which server you are on Contact Support.

RockN.host1- US - West (LA)
Secure SSL/TLS Settings
(Recommended)
Username: Full Email Address (email@yourname.com)
Password: Use the email account’s password.
Incoming Server:

imap.dreamhost.com

  • IMAP Port: 993

 

pop.dreamhost.com

  • POP3 Port: 995
Outgoing Server: smtp.dreamhost.com
  • SMTP Port: 465
**Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.
 
RockN.host1- US - West (LA)
Non-SSL Settings
Username: Full Email Address (email@yourname.com)
Password: Use the email account’s password.
Incoming Server: mail.yourname.com
  • IMAP Port: 143
  • POP3 Port: 110
Outgoing Server: mail.yourname.com
  • SMTP Port: 587
**Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.

Note:The above SSL settings are for our RockNspace1 (Business & Corporate Plans) servers. If you do not know which server you are on Contact Support.

Step By Step Instructions



  1. Open the Apple Mail application by clicking the Mail icon on the bottom dock. You can also type in the word 'Mail' into the search bar.
  2. Click Mail in the top menu bar.

     

     

  3. Select the Accounts option
    The 'Choose a mail account provider...' page opens:

     

     

  4. Select the Other Mail Account… option and click the Continue button.
    This example uses the email address "user@dreamhost.com":

     

     

  5. Enter the following:
    • Full Name: This is how you'd like your name displayed when sending email.
    • Email Address: This field must contain the full email address.
    • Password: This is the password you set up for the email.
  6. Click the Sign In button when finished.

     


    You should receive notification reading the name or password cannot be identified:

     

  7. Confirm the following fields are configured:
    • Email Address: This field must contain the full email address.
    • User Name: This field must contain the full email address for ALL Servers.
    • Password: This is the password you set up for the email.
    • Account Type: Choose IMAP (You Want Multiple Devices Synchronized for Checking Mail) or POP (1 Device)
    • Incoming Mail Server: Enter your mail servername from your Account Hosting Email Sent to you on Account Setup.
    • Outgoing Mail Server: Enter your mail servername from your Account Hosting Email Sent to you on Account Setup.
  8. Click the Sign In button to proceed.
    You should receive a warning about the mail server certificate:

     

     

  9. Click the Show Certificate button.

     

     

  10. Check the box to 'Always trust "*.mail.dreamhost.com" for RockN.host1 server or whatever your Mail Server is. Then click the Continue button.

     

     

  11. Choose which apps you'd like to associate with this account and click Done.



Your new email address is now set up and ready to use. You can send a test message to confirm it's working properly.
